Are more expensive irons such as Taylormade or Callaway irons, less susceptible to breaking?

My Spalding 3 iron of 10 years broke at the driving range. The clubhead broke off and flew into the range after hitting the ground hard by accident a few times. But I hardly ever even used this club since I had it.|||The shaft that broke on your club is very similar if not the same as the shafts used by Callaway and Taylormade. Clubs that are used on driving range mats are subjected to a lot of stress and can break at the hosel or neck. A club repair shop can easily replace the shaft for you and you'll likely pay $15 - $20 for the repair. Before sending it in for repair check to see if the shaft actually broke or if the head just came loose. If it came loose you can clean up the shaft tip and the inside of the hosel and use epoxy to reset the shaft.|||its not the club..its the shaft. I have a set of Spaldings that are over 30 years ood..the club head itself never broke. but the shaft takes alot of use by flexing all the time. Sure..those clubs are great and shoud'nt break..but like I said..the shaft is used alot!! the shaft makes a HUGE difference.|||the stainless steel could rust over time, and make the shaft weaker. But any club that you hit the wrong way has the possibility of breaking
