Taylormade. Whats the difference between tp (irons and driver/woods) amd non-tp (irons and driver/woods)?

Taylormade. Whats the difference between tp (irons and driver/woods) amd non-tp (irons and driver/woods)?|||Contrary to what Anyjay says...TP stands for tour preferred. They feature a thinner top line......higher center of gravity for lower trajectory, and smaller club face than the non TP Taylormade Irons. They are a more feel oriented club. and as a result a less forgiving club on off center contact|||In the woods typically the TP version is going to have a smaller head to promote more workability and they'll also typically have a higher cnter of gravity to promote a lower trajectory and again, more workability. In the TP irons you'll normally see a thinner sole and thinner topline with a smaller head, and again, a higher center of gravity for workability and the irons will tend to have less offset.|||TP stands for Tour professional. The difference then for beginner clubs and TP clubs comes in the "feel" versus the result.

A beginner is quite happy to get the ball in the air and get a little more out of shots which are on the "poorer" end of the scale. To achieve this clubs are deigned to distrubute most of the weight low and far back in the club as possible.

The cost of doing this is the feel and control that the skilled golfer wants in order to be able to precisely choose how much weight to put behind the ball or push across the ball for spin.

All this is in milli-seconds of course.|||the difference is 'tp'
